Paul Filing is a former Member of the House of Representatives (1990-1998), WA Police Force Detective (1979-1987) and owner/operator of a successful group of mortgage broking stores in Perth’s metropolitan area since 2002.

He won the House of Representatives electorate of Moore from the ALP in 1990.

Paul served as Parliamentary Secretary to Liberal Leader John Hewson and Deputy Opposition Whip.

He previously held the positions of Vice-President WA Liberal Party and State President WA Young Liberals.

Following a bitter internal war in the WA Liberal Party he resigned from the Parliamentary Liberal Party and contested his seat and won as an Independent in 1996 increasing his majority and joining (then fellow-Independent) Pauline Hanson on the cross-benches.

He has been WA President of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party since June 2021.
